Daniel i would say that i would do that but i cant... I am a pretty sick guy... I've done some stuff during war time that would make some people cringe but i try to set myself aside from those type of people.... unless you come near my family of course then no holds barred... but the best thing i can do to the club is put them on blast here and i hope that they post about an opening on here one day so i can just simply link this thread for all of them to see.... sad part is one of the guys on here who is a good guy it is his uncle who runs the place... he can comment if he wants im not going to put him on blast.

I had a buddy of mine in the same situation one time, he pleaded with them and got back in the club, then gut shot every deer he saw and brought a bunch of friends and just raped the place of game. I'm not recomending that, I am saying that is what he did. I thought it was funny. He also took dumps in the clubs shooting houses, hung up white trash bags around the food plots, and put ammonia in cans and placed them around the food plots of the board of directors in the club where they hunted. That is a pretty sick friend you have. I can understand he would be mad, but that's pretty low to gut shoot deer on purpose to prove a point about a hunting club. There is nothing right about that and I would have a hard time being friends with someone who would do something like that no matter how mad he was at the hunting club.

They won't let you sell your membership because your hurt and can't hunt, they won't refund your money, they won't let you hunt, and they expect you to fullfill your workdays? Dang, sounds like they are a bunch of assholes like someone mentioned. I'd like to hear their side if any on here is a member or officer of this club.

i would talk to the land owner(leaser) about the president. if no good results are found, then just show up to hunt. You paid your dues, work days completed. Heck just give some good directions to the some of th folks on here. First let me say that I pray that you recover from your injuries. To the point about the club. I'm fairly certain that that by law you can't kick a member out of a club, or prevent them from hunting unless you give them a refund. Some of the lawyers on here could probably give more details on this, but I believe this is the case even if a member doesn't meet the required work days etc. If things transpired like you have stated, this is a sorry excuse for a president and members who would stand by that type of treatment. It sounds like you met all the requirements, so I would send him an email telling him you plan to hunt, or he can send you a full refund and you will call it even. If he doesn't like it maybe one on the lawyers on here would be kind enough to send him a letter on your behalf once they have all of the details. Even if you had to give them a couple hundred bucks you would be $800 ahead, which I'm sure you could use right now if you are out of work.

So after a fiasco with my current Huntin club I don't know that I will ever be apart of another club! However it was my first. But way too much bickering, politics, and just overall BS! Y'all that lease you own land any suggestions? Things you've learned over the years? I really want to lease 200 acres or so close to the house. I'd like to be able to sleep in my own bed before I hunt. I never would have thought that a club that has been established for 25 years would have so many problems in it! Truly blows my mind. And god forbid if you get hurt and try to get out.... Just blows my mind. I lease 150 acres from an older couple and 200 from another guy. I'm also in a great lease, with a great bunch of guys, but the freedom of those two leases is great. I can plant what I want, hunt where I want, not worry about ticking anybody off, ect... I'll never again drive a long distance to hunt. I did it all my life, and these leases are within 5 miles of my home and it's been been the best decision I've ever made. Get on the county's website and find the property owners and go see them. Even if it's only 50 or 60 acres, in the right place that can be great. Good luck to you

I was in a club once. The new President was a reformed drug addict and specifically said no drinking allowed at club house or property, i said o.k. I was up there with a couple other members who went to greenville for dinner. I stopped and bought a 6 pack of beer (helps with sleep) and stopped down the dirt road from property and drank 2 and left the other 4 in my cooler. Went hunting the next morning and got back around 11 to find president had gone inside my cooler and found 4 beers and told me i was out of the club for breaking his club rules. This was during bow season, which just started. I had only hunted 2 days, put up a shooting house and 2 ladder stands. I told him to give my $$$ back ($1250) and i would get my stuff that day, he said no and to leave and never come back. I thought i would get my $1250 back by knocking him out cold, but i decided to leave before i hurt him. I went back a couple weeks later after dark and got everything and took to my private land and vowed to never get in a club again. Believe me, a lot of things went thru my head that i could do to make me feel better. I thought about sneaking up there and hooking a chain to his truck and to his camper that was sitting on blocks to have him snatch it off blocks, but God told me to calm down and be the better man. I walked away and never looked back.
Is it Hunting Season Yet?

Well I am a member of this club and I have nothing bad to say about it. Joe is a very nice man. BUT, I have also never brought a guest and not paid the fees that come with bringing a guest. And I've never made up a lie about that guest just dropping me off and not hunting even though other members of the club clearly saw us both dressed & pinned out, both days, too hunt. I don't think it's very fair to blast a club on here when only half of the information is given. He said you could continue to hunt as long as you paid him the money you owed him for bringing a guest that you lied about having. Simple as that. Sorry I just had to say this because it is not fair to Joe to have part of the story posted. Sounds like we weren't given the full story. CD.

Well I was going to stay out of this but with everything being said I feel I should comment. I am a member of swamp creek hunting club and the president is my 2nd cousin. I've known joe all my life and he is far from anything said on here. Hes probably one of the nicest guys youll ever meet and anyone that knows him will vouch for that. I called him along with a few others to clarify everything said on here. First off the membership being sold on here was for a six point or better club. We are a three point or better club, have been for years and always will be. Review land and leases to confirm. So your already selling a membership on here thats not what it actually is. so when someone dead set on a managed club buys in and then gets there and realizes what they actually bought, what then. When you decided to sell your membership, you still owe the club over a hundred dollars in guest fees and for a bad check. Five months were given to pay the fines. I wouldn't let anyone sell a membership owing extra money and who came to me a day before season and said they wanted out. You also lied a lot about guest you had down, I know because the last weekend of season I wound up in serveral phone calls from joe asking me if I was sure it wasn't just you because you had told him you were alone. As for the work days, neither me nor Brie can make them due to the fact that we work 7 days a week from march until season. I discussed this with joe when I got in and I try to help out during the season when help is needed. The reason your work days were an issue is because yes you made 2 of them but showed up at 1030 and left at 230 for one of them and when planting came along called in sick due to back injuries. A back injury definitely should get you out of a work day but when you show up the very next day and load a bunch of 50 lb bags of corn on a four wheeler and then turn around and pull start it, people are going to notice and get pissed. The members wanted you called out on it not just joe. But like ya said your wanting to lease your own land which is probably a good thing.....there are no rules. So ya might want to just keep your mouth closed on talking about my family unless your not lying. And once again all this comes from members, myself, and saved text messages that will confirm everything.
Sometimes, it is hard to live with these two wolves inside me, for both of them try to dominate my spirit."
