I don't care to vet into any of the other issues. But, I don't care if you hunt or not, once you paid, you paid and I don't think, the club is required to give money back. Now, if the club lied, or something like that yes. But, just because you can't or don't want to hunt there no way.

This thread is exactly why I will probably never join another club again. Too much Drama!!!!! Somebody always complaining about somebody else, especially on work days. They didnt work hard enough, didnt show up, didnt pitch in for fuel, etc.....
I'm tired of hearing this crap and I aint involved. I've heard the same thing in every club I've ever been in. SOS everywhere you go!!!! I never cared if NOBODY showed up on work days. It's a hunting club!!!! for FUN!!!!!
This is why I now prefer SOLO DIY Wilderness hunts.
I answer to God, my wife and myself.

I don't care who it is or what the situation is, I've always said there's three sides to every story. Person A's side, person B's side and the truth somewhere in the middle. I will say though, even though I don't know any of the other club members, it sounds like there is too much family involved. I was in one of those clubs for years. I was even a member of the family that leased the land, ran the club, etc... ALL rules were put to a vote before the club. Only thing was that there were enough family members to sway the vote either direction we wanted. It was horrible. If you didn't agree with what the family wanted as a whole you were still expected to vote with them. If you went against them it carried over into personal lives, holidays, etc... If you weren't a family member you got screwed over pretty good too. Say, for instance, when the club I was in lost part of it's lease, and didn't need as many members, "outsiders" were the first to go. It didn't matter how long you had been in the club. I saw a guy that had been in the club for 18 years lose his spot to a Club President's nephew that was a first year member. Then the nephew got out the next year. Family or not, I got fed up with the mess and got out. I'll never be in another club full of a bunch of folks all related in some manner or another.

If voting made any difference, they wouldn’t let us do it.-Mark Twain

My side has been given and I'm done with the topic. I have been dealing with the president long enough and don't want any part of it anymore. The situation sucks and wasn't handled the way I think it should have. And as far as what Brie said to dignify that with a response would turn this topic even more into what I didn't mean for it to be. Only advice on leasin my own land. I will say though that I have learned a valuable and expensive lesson! I pissed $1,000 away. But lesson learned. I will get y own land and there won't be any BS which will be the best part.

He also took dumps in the clubs shooting houses, hung up white trash bags around the food plots, and put ammonia in cans and placed them around the food plots of the board of directors in the club where they hunted.

That is a pretty sick friend you have. I can understand he would be mad, but that's pretty low to gut shoot deer on purpose to prove a point about a hunting club. There is nothing right about that and I would have a hard time being friends with someone who would do something like that no matter how mad he was at the hunting club.

I agree with bwhunter! Gut shoot deer b/c he's mad at the president or club? That's wrong! I hope you didn't laugh and encourage it. Gut shooting deer for revenge... that's just wrong!

so your not going to justify anything you were called out on? Didn't think so. So your fine with dogging a club and a good man with post after post but when someone calls you out you don't want to argue. And might I add deleting posts. And what about my post? Nothing there either huh.

Ford150man said: "I don't care who it is or what the situation is, I've always said there's three sides to every story. Person A's side, person B's side and the truth somewhere in the middle."

Not always so grey, IMO. Sometimes, it's beyond belief what goes on in hunting clubs... just like what A LOT of people said about the husband and wife team that used to run Riverdale Hunting Club. Every negative thing said about those two and especially the wife, was true.

They finally lost all the members as the entire group of hunters refused to rejoin if the husband and wife team was running it. Husband and wife didn't have the members and couldn't renew lease so the members picked up the land and kicked the husband and wife team to the curb!!

Leadership and rules would be the #1 & #2 most important aspects of a hunting club!
