Finally settled in...not as hot as yesterday but still warm. Decided to step away from a oak bottom to a pine thicket with a few oaks dropping. Stay turned.... And good luck to all u other stick slingers!!!!

I opted to stay in the hardwoods. White oaks seem to be about dropped out gotta hunt my good ones while I can. Hopefully they'll be moving ahead of this front!....this spot may have been a bad choice just had a big yote come through as I was typing this. Had no dang shot. I hate those things! If I wouldn't have already dropped my spare arrows outta the tree I prob would've tried a shot anyways.

Back on a wheat and awp where I killed the slick a week ago, there hasnt been many daylight pictures but I'm hoping this front has them on their feet and hungry. The field is 6-8" deep in wheat and the awp are starting to fall over

saw 2 spikes at 415. 2 BIG does and a fawn came in at 5. After figuring out which one was the momma, I decided to shoot the other one. Strained to pull my bow back and rushed the shot. Clipped just under her. Found a little meat, white hair, and just a little streak of blood on the arrow. No blood on the ground so I feel good that she will be fine. Big time choke job. She wasn't 20 yards away.....
