Anyone here have a son/grandson playing on an 8-man football team? It's fun to watch. Scoring can run higher than the common 11 player game.

Bamajoz, which school in Millbrook? Victory or New Life? My son has a scrimmage game this coming Saturday at New Life. He plays for Tabernacle Christian.

If you think that 8-man is high scoring come watch a 6-man game. I am the offensive coordinator at Brooklane Baptist in Hueytown as well as head basketball coach for our j.h. & varsity boys teams. BTW, Victory in Millbrook is now a 6-man participant in C.F.A.

BTW guys, my varsity boys will be participating in the Torch Classic ball tourney again this year. If y'all are there look me up. It would be nice to meet you in person!

I have two nephews that play for the Tabernacle Christian Torches in Gardendale. I like to watch the games, but I've never been one that likes high scoring, no defense games. I love to see a good defense play. In their games, very few can cover one on one. If the quarterback has time to throw, many times he has an open receiver. I prefer to watch traditional football.

Nate and Will are very good football players. Nate and my son Austin are the only freshman playing varsity this season. Are you known as Uncle Al to them? I'll be at practice this afternoon.

Hope to possibly get to meet you at one of their games.

They usually call me Uncle Alan, but when they are not around me, they may call me many things.

I don't know if I'll get to attend many, if any of their games this year. My daughter will be a freshman at Clay-Chalkville High and she is in the marching band. I suppose I'll be following the band around on Friday nights.

If I do get the chance to attend a game, I'll be sure and look you up. Take care and God bless!

See on their schedule that Tabernacle will be playing host to Tuscaloosa this Friday night (Aug. 17). Going to try and make it to that game because it may be the only one we get a chance to see.

Bamajoz, I was one of them rail birds standing amongst them yahoos along the fence. New Life has a good team. No. 77 is a hoss. I think that was his number. He played nose guard. My son plays tight end and safety. TCA always has a good team. This should be a good game. Who does New Life play this Friday?

Game next week, Oct. 19, should be a great one against Hope. Heard they came out last night and watched Tabernacle beat New Life. Go Torches!

I loved watching my son play 8 man. He started on his varsity team as a linebacker in 7th grade. He played all the way through 12th grade. He played for Tuscaloosa Christian Academy. I'm not sure how well known it was but he is legally blind. His last two years he was moved to nose guard because he couldn't see more than a foot ahead of him. He tackled anyone that came by him. He actually got 2 sacks behind the line of scrimmage and ran a touchdown his senior year. The coach asked him why he liked football so much and he said, "Coach, I just like hitting people". That's my boy.

GO NOLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great meeting you and your wife as well. Your son is a great QB and leader for the team. I look forward to seeing you again at the playoffs as well.

Great story. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, a great story. What years did he attend Tuscaloosa Christian?
