I've never used one. Interested in using one, primarily for bow hunting. What say you guys? Anyone ever used a ASAT blind?

Never been much of a blind user until this year. Due to the new property circumstances I ordered my first one and received it in today. It's a Guide Gear Super Magnum with 7'x6' dimensions and a 6'6" roof peak that will be nice for my 6'3" frame. It wasn't but a hundred dollars and looks like it will do fine for the money. I can easily see gettin 3+ people in this thing comfortly.

Thanks for the responses. Norton, you killed deer in AL with a bow from a blind? My main concern is how the deer are going to react to the blind. I know in KY they don't give them a 2nd look but that's the tame midwestern deer.

Fur,
I think it's important to "brush it in"; I know some people don't, but I have had better luck that way. They don't seem to mind it as much that way. I keep a set if ratchet cutters in my pack anyway, might as well use them.

if you have a way of putting it out a few days before hunting you might be able to help the smell

I bought a brotherhood blind that is suppose to have some sort of scent technology but I dont believe that. best bet is to make sure you shoot out of it some before you go in with it.

Killed several in Bama from a blind. I think it's vital to brush it in. I always put it up
Brush it in and give them a week or two to get used to it. Never had much problem.

I've been looking at ground blinds the last 2 weeks. I don't like hunting from the ground, but need two for Nebraska. I think I've narrowed it down to either a Hunter Specialties blind (not sure of name) or the Ameristep Backstrap. Both are $100 and constructed out of heavy material.

I bought an Ameristep Doghouse blind last year and it didn't last the week in Nebraska. Material was really cheap and high winds destroyed it!

Walmart has some decent 60" x 60" x 70" blinds for $99. I got one the other day. They are Mossy Oak Infinity camo and the material seems to be ok. I was gonna get a Double Bull this year but couldn't turn loose of the cash. If the one from Walmart only lasts a year or two then so be it. I don't figure the Double Bulls would last me much longer than that any way, as rough as I am on stuff. (2cents)

A double bull would survive a wild fire I think.
