how many folks here have killed with a bow? not talking about crossbows vertical bows. I've killed over 20 with a bow completed archery slam bout 7 yrs ago. usually kill one or 2 every year with a bow

I could kill em with a bow. But I don’t like to deer hunt em. Set up a blind over a plot and wait on em, just ain’t no fun to me. I like the run and gun on their turf. Guy I know has killed a pile of em with a bow out of a double bull blind.

Not knocking deer hunting turkeys, just not my thing is all. And I don’t think I could kill one with a bow in open ground in the woods.

I like the smell of gun powder to much to attempt to Bow kill one.

A couple just to say I did. Wasn’t near as much fun.

Ive killed some in the fall with a bow, but never have spring hunted them. I've been thinking about it using one if thise long bladed broadheads and shooting the head off a bird. But, I doubt I do it this year.

killed prolly a dozen er more. I used to put a small(20x28") screen on the front of my short compound to hide my draw, worked good. Killed with a compound, recurve, and self made longbow/stone point rigs. Some from a pop up blind, brush blind, no blind set ups.

that's incredible Fred!!! to kill one with a recurve or longbow is a huge accomplishment.im still trying to be good with a compound 24 yrs of archery tournaments and still working on it. longbow or recurve is truly impressive.

I've never felt any desire to try with a bow. Lugging a bow around the turkey woods seems awfully cumbersome

Ive had rios at 5 yards…deer hunting in texas where its legal to killem in the fall..just..was not very appealing…to me..huntin a turkey in the fall is about like buildin a snowman in july..it just aint right…an i just aint into bowhuntin a turkey

I’ve missed like three, knocked feathers off one, and boogered one up; all just sitting against a tree with no blind. That chit is hard and I went back to my shotgun

I’ve done it with a compound with and without a blind. The trick without a blind is to pull low poundage. Like 50 lbs. draw slow and draw sitting down. You don’t need deer bow weight to put one through. Would love to give it a go with my longbow. Seems like you won’t be able to sit against a tree and pull that off. Probably need to be in your knees with some front cover and I’m not patient enough yet.

Killed 3, 1 a year since I picked up a bow. Last year was in velvet!

No desire to punish myself even more than regular turkey hunting with a shotgun. No sir.

I killed one w a bow 2 years ago so i checked that box - taking my shot gun when i can

I went 2 for 2 with a bow this year. missed 3 with a shotgun. I don't feel like I've had a good season unless I get one or 2 with a bow.

I neck shot a gobbler at four feet with a stone point arrow out of a self made Osage longbow out of a Double Bull blind. He looked in the window and took an arrow for his efforts. LOL

Killed a couple with my bow along with coyotes. Hardest thing I’ve tried to kill and still haven’t is a bobcat.

Years ago I took a fella from PA who wanted to kill a turkey with his bow. I knew where one had been being every morning so I cut a little brush blind to set up behind for fly down time. That bird pitched down and strutted up in our lap, the fella did good drawing back on him and I thought it was a done deal. I guess he was shooting the wrong broadhead or something because that arrow zipped through that bird like butter. That joker pitched up and flew the county on us, we looked everywhere for that bird we had some words

I’ve killed several bobcats with a bow in three states. Just call em in and let her fly.
