The only time that I have fallen was from about 10 feet when the steps on a wooden ladder stand let go, and I came down and broke each step below with my back until I got to the last one. It did not break and just left me hanging there. Thankfully, the biggest thing that was hurt was my pride. I am now a sissy when it comes to heights without my harness. Jeremy

I broke my neck and tore my L5 disc in my lower back. After two surgeries I have 8 screws, 2 rods and plate in my neck, 4 screws and a "H" shaped bracket in my lower back. I'm feeling better each day although it seems something knew on me is sore each day also. I had the harness on while putting up climbing sticks and the stand. Shook the stand like always once straps were secure and didn't get any wiggle. As always, I wanted get on the stand to check it out. I unhooked my safety harness and put both feet on the edge of the stand. I was going to re-attach safety harness once securely on stand but we know I didn't get that chance and the next thing I know I'm coughing up blood. We are getting the safety ropes that you can attach your harness to in order to try and prevent this when hunting or putting up stands. The top ratchet strap on the loc-on broke on me is the reason I fell. Again, thanks for all the thoughts and prayers guys. I appreciate it

We're getting married 2 weeks from this Saturday...I told him if he's getting cold feet, there are other ways to let me know, other than falling 18 feet from a tree! I thought y'all might like to see this picture. There happened to be a game camera at the stand that Hunter fell from. If you look to the right, you can see him lying on the ground in a red tshirt his Dad leaning over him. That's Jeff on the ranger backing up to load Hunter into it to take him to the main road to meet the ambulance & helicopter. I hunt just like you, only prettier.

No telling how many times that has been done with nothing going wrong, but it only takes once.
