You want multiple calibers or just one main? Get a kit from Rcbs or Hornady or...the $629.00 Dillon square deal B and just run it slowly. I think you load shotgun so you probably have the manuals.

I’ve loaded for 257 wthby, 7mm STW, 300 WSM and a few others but all have been single stage like my shot shells. I loaded 44 mag for a rifle is as close as I’ve gotten. A good friend has always loaded in masses tons of pistols stuff for me but he’s down with his back and not sure if he will be up a going anytime soon.

I’m at the stage of checking price wise with what I may end up doing. Buying in bulk versus overall cost of reloading. Nothing is cheap any longer. I can get brass easily so that’s a plus.

9mm is what I’m looking at. I have the rock chucker but f that can be added too

Buy bulk ammo and be done with it.

I have an older Dillon Square deal and 550.. Unless the design changed for the square deal, it doesn't accept standard dies, the 550 does. I retired the square deal a long time ago. Load 9mm and 45acp w/ the 550. May set it up to load 10mm. Doesn't take much to swap calibers.

All day long. They take some tuning and getting use to but they’ll out perform anything on the market in my opinion for pistol ammo. I use to load about 800 an hour on average. The boys still have the one I bought many years ago.

Get the Dillon SDB. They are great if you're doing pistol only. Tens of thousands of rounds have rolled off mine in the past 30 years.

This^^^^^ I don’t know what it would take for me to want to load for 9mm, 223/5.56 or any other common caliber that is readily available with a good selection of accurate ammo. This includes most common rifle rounds. At this point, I’m only set up for rifle rounds that are hard to come by and find components for. That’s why you see so much like new or new reloading equipment and dies for sale. It rarely makes financial sense and folks figure that out pretty quickly. I just bought a Rock Chucker Supreme master kit still in the box after 9 years for a VERY fair price.

Alternately, you could setup to reload for the common stuff to load during hard times -if you really like it as a hobby- but shoot the bulk ammo as long as it’s available. This is common practice for some. The problem is, reloading supplies follow the same wave as the ammo when things are hard to come by and the price and availability of components goes nuts just like the ammo. To each their own but, my personal approach is based purely in financial feasibility and necessity which circles back to the first sentence.

That’s what I do. Buy bulk 9mm and 380 but keep dies and enough components on hand to ride out an extended shortage. We all know the supply will dry up again at some point.

Loading/reloading has gotten very expensive in recent years. I dig reloading, but it absolutely is not cheap.

No doubt about that. I started reloading for my rifles 25-30 years ago for quality. Hard to find consistent quality cartridges back then plus the Weatherby rounds were much cheaper.

A friend al hats gave me pool rounds he’d reload I just gave him a bunch of brass. Right now I’m just gonna buy and save brass and see where things go. I may start compiling components just in case though.
