Debating on where to put my guns safe in our new home
I would really like to put it in my safe room off the garage but it’s not air conditioned
Our house is on a crawl space and this safe is heavy 700-800 pounds
Any suggestions ?

My gun safe is in my garage. Not air conditioned. Been that way for 15 years. Never had a problem.

It's not ideal, but you can put it in a non-conditioned space you just have to keep some sort of dehumidifier in the safe. Just have to check it routinely to ensure that it is still functioning.

If you have power to your safe room i would run a dehumidifier in it.

I do use a rod and have a dehumidifier pack that I throw in the oven a couple times a year. Along with a hygrometer to make sure it’s all good.

^^^This^^^. Especially if the space above the garage is heated and cooled, it may not have a lot of temperature swings. You can buy the dehumidifier based on the size of the safe. I had to cut the cord on mine to get the wire through the floor of the safe but just wired a new plug on it and it worked fine.

In a walk in closet with a pier directly under it.

Wouldn't it easier to walk off just sitting in the garage.....

Not if it’s anchored to the floor

Have mine in the house with a crawlspace. I put 4x6 beams with 4 jack posts under the house with cap blocks prior to putting the safe in the house. Seems to be solid. I wouldn’t recommend the furniture dolly’s. I have a nice indent in the floor where we rolled the safe in the house. Luckily it’s not that noticeable since we moved furniture to cover up the nice line in the floor. I recommend 1/2 in pvc pipe to roll the safe in place.

My house has a crawlspace and my safe is in a walkin closet...I was going to shore up under the safe location when I moved it in but I got lucky and the safe location is directly over a pier location. The safe has been there for almost 20 years and there's been no change in the floor yet (settling, deflection, bowed floor joists, etc)

I know a fella that built his new house on a crawl space, but he poured a slab under a particular closet that holds some heavy items.
He said it was really simple to do and wasn’t expensive.

I once had a customer who had a safe on an exterior wall of his house. While he was on vacation thieves broke into his barn and hot wired his tractor, popped holes in the exterior wall on either side of the safe and pulled it through the wall with his own tractor. My suggestion - hide it as well as possible and don’t show it to anyone!

Will be fine in garage. Just put one of the heating rods in it.
If you put it inside the house id put on a outside wall or corner.
A fire will be hottest in the center is my thinking on that.

Mine's in my Hunting Room inside my house.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.
