We should be thankful that Ms. K allows us to shoot the deer owned by the state of which she’s the governor of. Thank you Governor Kay Ivey. We as hunters are grateful for the Alabama DCNR and the guidelines they have set forth to enhance the privilege we have to harvest these fine animals.

Jared I get what you’re saying, and there is some truth to it. But if we don’t govern the use of a resource that resource could become extinct or endangered. Remember at one point Alabama’s deer population had to be restocked. Some people are idiots and cannot be trusted to manage a resource.

But I do get what you are saying. I would rather be on this side of the spectrum than the other though.

You don’t have a place. You rent it from the state of Alabama.

Long as I'm alive and pay the rent, (AKA taxes) I do.

I stopped following suggestions years ago. My turkey weapon has a 3x9 scope and is good to about 250

As much of Alabama that could be Cleared/Suitable for Cotton Crops in th' early 1800's and beyond were the Demise of Deer and Turkeys. And year-round hunting for Meat until th' 1930's when laws were made....still recovering from the Depression and not until after WWII was there much enforcement. Biggest Concentration of Native Deer was along th' Tombigbee River Swamps.....not suitable for Cotton. Turkeys were in small Pockets here and there.
