Looks like beach season is officially underway based on traffic I was in yesterday on 65 between Montgomery and Birmingham. Both northbound and southbound lanes were bumper to bumper. Headed north about 25% of the tags were out of state. Took me over 3 hours to travel that 75 mile stretch. Will be this way every Friday through Sunday until Columbus Day. There really is no alternate route except 31 which is not an easy trip. The Alabama Gulf Coast had 14 million visitors last year and when you add in the Florida panhandle and increased truck traffic from the Port of Mobile it just keeps getting worse.

With the illegal invaders coming from the South and the liberal invaders coming from the northeast and west coasts we got ourselves a problem.

No relief in site and won't be in my life time. If I travel that way for work I try to make it really early a.m. or after 8pm.

I got to the Alabaster exit heading South around 2:30. And from there to Montgomery in the North bound lane was crazy. Bumper to bumper traveling around fifty mph. Headlights as far as you could see. With the way I travel, I’m not looking forward to driving from one end of the state to the other. Especially when the widening stars at Calera to Clanton.

Starting a week from today, 331 and 231 from Montgomery south especially on weekends will be a total sh1show. I feel sorry for Mr. Ross Clark's family (whoever he was) in Dothan cause his name gets cussed everyday from March to October by all kinds of people who never knew him.

And 431 through Eufaula! Almost all traffic from Atlanta area going to Panama City area comes this way.

It was bad before everyone decided to move to Alabama. I hate to see it now.

I kinda wish there was a program for Yankees that are thinking about moving to the beach. Maybe put them up in a house directly in the middle of PCB Destin on 30A during Mid March through Memorial Day, make them commute to a job in Crestview every working day. They cannot go back up north until they have fully changed their mind and decide that Nashville is a fine place to live that is close enough to the beach.

Nashville doesn’t want them. There is actually a group in Nashville running an advertising campaign saying “thanks for visiting, we’re full so go home”.

Just wait for the traffic jam when construction on the 6-lane from Birmingham to Huntsville begins smile

That aint nothin. It may not happen in my lifetime but there are plans for adding lanes to the Dolly Parton bridge. Most recent estimate I saw was $415 billion and that was before Biden.

Snow birds migrating back north. All of the Gulf State Park long term spots had to check out by 11 yesterday. Spring breakers heading south.

Seems like the more work they do on I-65, the better parking lot it makes

It’s about to get much worse. The project to widen the next phase of I-65 south of Alabaster is about to get started.

Yall should come deal with the Bay Way and tunnel traffic. It lasts all summer here too.

…..But then they’ll still take the $750k profit they get when they sell their home to the highest bidder from Cali beers

About time. It’s been a long winter only having a couple hundred customers a day in the store. We’re ready for two or three thousand a day.
