How high can you get using your current setup? What setup do you have? Number of sticks etc etc.
I been looking at getting into saddle hunting but have a lot of questions. One of my main concerns is getting to the height that I need to be at. I hunt public land that is thick as hell in some places and I routinely have to get 30 feet and higher at times to be able to see down into it. If I can't get to whatever height I need to be the benefit of less weight/gear won't help me versus using my climber.

I use a single stick and the only limiting factor is how long your rope is. Mine is 40’. You are welcome to come get my stuff and try it if you want.

Maybe look up the 1 stick method on YouTube. I think most guys are getting about 20’ with 3 sticks.

This is from my research, not from experience. I’ve never done it.

I appreciate that. I might take you up on that at a later time. Right now I'm in the research phase. Just wanted some real world knowledge as to if my requirements were possible.

That’s why I started using it. What little bit of deer hunting I do is in the Mobile Tensaw Delta or the Mississippi delta. I like it because I can climb any tree, no matter how big or small, or how many limbs. When you are done hunting, just drop your stick down and repel down.

I climb with a single stick and a 40’ rappel line, have had the tag end of my line 5-10’ off the ground several times in big straight pines on rifle hunts

You can get higher with a single step with an aider attached than you ever could with a climber. With a saddle and aider stick you can maneuver around and over limbs.

I've got 4 of the updated Tethrd Skeletor sticks and easily reach 20'. I could stretch it out a little further if I needed to.

3 tethrd one sticks, two with single aiders and one with a double aider will get me 22’ to the platform if I stretch it out.

Climbing spurs will get me as high as I want
