Our IC peas always got maybe waist high. We bush hogged them down while mowing the roads then disced them in around the middle of September. Soybeans never lasted more than a week after germination between the deer and hogs. They never get passed knée high here . Last time I planted I planted 2 ac . I got two quarts of peas of them .

I overseed them standing, use oats and clover when the leaves start turning and dont tear them up until the next spring (if needed). Do you have any pictures of the results, when the oats are fading out and the peas are taking over? I might try this

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

I reckon i had it backwards. Would it work in reverse? Could i sling the peas out in some clover/cereal rye about the time the rye plays out, ahead of a good rain, and expect good results?

I plan to plant some peas about next month or april along with corn and sunflowers and see if I can get the peas to run up the stalks. Never tried it before but I believe the deer will love it if I can get it to do what i want it to. Buddy of mine just told me this. He said plant corn so it will grow up the stalks. I’m going to attempt it at least.

I doubt the germ would be very good. The larger seeds dont get enough soil contact unless the seedbed is prepared unless you get a drill and drill the cow peas in. But, my guess is the beans wouldnt do great if drilled into a thick clover or oat established field.

If I was going to do it I’d run over it with a tractor or four wheeler to push the seed to better soils contact. Just using the tires.
