I am looking to purchase some property in Pine Hill. I have seen the land and like what I see, but I do not know much about the area. Currently hunt farther east. I someone who hunts close to highway 10 and highway 5 could talk to me I would greatly appreciate it. Concerns are deer numbers, size and general area concerns Thanks,
keith

I manage a bunch of land in the area. That particular area is going to be eat up with hogs for starters. The deer numbers are good, not great. The genetics - probably the same - good, not exceptional. But a freak or two will be killed periodically. The locals - well - that will depend on the exact location. Could be ok, and could be really bad.

Talk to someone local who knows the area the land is located.
Could be good depending how close it is to certain local communities

Send Sluggun a PM. He lives in that area.

I had land just north of Pine Hill. Poachers were a big problem.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

That would be my biggest concern there.

I know 2 people who have properties east of Hwy 5 and South of Hwy 10 that have no issues.

That’s a decent area. Bigger timberland ownership. Less houses. And just far enough away from Lower Peachtree to be ok.

Hunted near there close to Yellow Bluff for 10 years; pretty accurate description above. Exact location and security, as to poachers; is important. Most here know about the story of poachers shooting and killing a hunter 5-7 years ago in the area. My locale was safe; but frequented by owner. We had heavy deer population; occasional good one. LOT's of hogs.
If close to river; be aware of flood plain.
