I’ve had multiple friends tell me that they are having trouble getting ag lime spread. The Co-Op puts them on the list but never gets around to them. They call and check and are told “ you’re way down the list and now we’ve swapped over to spreading fertilizer and not spreading lime right now. They don’t have a lime buggy so unless you have one you have to wait for them to spread it with their truck. Anyone else having this issue or have another solution beside pelletized?

Had that problem several years ago. Couldn’t get it spread and the folks I could get to spread it were raping on cost. I just bought a truck and cut them all out of the equation.

I farm about 1700 acres and I have trouble getting Marshall or Dekalb Farmers Coop to spread lime for me. I don’t know why the coops are like this, I assume they don’t make enough money off of the lime and try to not spread no more than they have to.

I’d rather buy it and do it myself but buying a lime buggy isn’t reasonable and neither is buying 4 tons of pelletized. I was hopeful that I might find someone who had a buggy or a truck.

You talking about the Albertville store or the Arab store? The one in Albertville is now a "Dekalb" farmers co-op even though it's in Marshall county.

I called the Albertville store this fall. They said we're 3 weeks out. They called 4 days later and wanted to spread it. Granted, our farm isn't far from the store, but still.

One thing I do like about their lime... They use Dolomitic.
