^^ Good job exceeding and not getn dicked over
I got kicked in the nuts all week - sales were good. Some customers - if the wind blows wrong - they think your product caused it. They dont know how to solve their own problems so my product easy scape goat

Mind if I ask what products you guys are selling? Just curious. I'm not a sells person, never have been, never will be. But I respect those who can make a living doing it.

Sandpaper/sanders, my customers until 2024 we’re almost exclusively car plants and suppliers, this year I’m adding some heavy truck plants(Autocar in Bham & Heil in Ft Payne) and boat plants up in the Knoxville area.

Go to a competitor and take customers. Exactly what I'd do. That's why salesman change jobs so often. With 7 years tenure, you've stayed way longer than the average fresh outta college sales rep has. You can increase your income by 50-100K in the next 5 years, if you change jobs twice between now and then. Corporations don't give a crap about you. Wanna know why I quit corporate America and bought a business?? ^^ Good job exceeding and not getn dicked over
I got kicked in the nuts all week - sales were good. Some customers - if the wind blows wrong - they think your product caused it. They dont know how to solve their own problems so my product easy scape goat Let me give you the other side of that coin. I deal with vendors and salesman, nearly every day. The days of ALL salesmen and their support staff, being technically competent in their field, are over. I have been so very, very frustrated with one of our vendors over the past 3 months. I can't be specific about the application, but when a redneck business owner asks questions about their product, that their entire engineering staff can't answer, and I know more about their product than any one single person that I've talked to, within that company, and I've "only" been dealing with said line of products for 10 years, that's a HUGE problem for THAT company. If I can get more technical about a product, and ask questions that engineers who work for the company that supplied the product can't answer, then there's a really big problem there.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

1. Sales is what makes everything else work. Everyone is in sales, everyone.
2. Always have a good backup plan, not just a backup plan, a good one. And be willing to use it. Don’t wait until you need it, Thats too late.

You know how to tell when a salesman is lying? When he opens his mouth… Seems like they are always complaining. AU7 seems to have been looking for another gig for awhile but seems to be doing well.

I work in healthcare. Come see me and want your pain meds or me to save your life. I can do that, rebuild your engine or anything else. I’ve been In engineering, design, manufacturing, and a number of other things. I’ve even been in sales. Square D products. Salesmen and engineers can always get a raise by changing employers and going back. Been there and done that.

You tried selling to Wiley Sanders? The name is the same as your product, so it seems like it would be an easy sell. (sorry, that was to easy, but I just saw a Wiley Sanders truck go by).

At a previous company, the owner set a sales goal. He included some very very good incentives, they were tiered up to a level that he felt we couldn’t achieve.
What did our department do as a team? Completely blow away his goals, earned the largest bonus which also led him to the greatest level of income for that product.
He was pissed that he had to pay such large bonuses and more of less dog cussed the team for achieving the unrealistic goals.
From that point on, I didn’t give many phucks about his company.

From that point on, I didn’t give many phucks about his company. Yup instead of celebrating the success and taking the crew out for a nice dinner, he completely disenfranchised the crew. Celebrating success should be a line item on a company budget. I’m not talking about participation trophies but hitting goals should be recognized
