Looking at a 3-9x50. I can’t get anything expensive so this is my front runner. just need something that holds zero well and pretty clear glass. On another thread someone mentioning staying away from Vortex. I’ve never used Vortex, just need some feedback from others that have this scope or any issues I should be aware of.

While I don't have this specific model, I've owned Vortex scopes for a number of years. I currently have four and have never had an issue with any of them. Maybe others have, but I have not and have been satisfied with every one I've owned.

At that price point I say go for it.....

Think about it like this at that price point they have the best warranty on the market IF something did happen. That is an unknown but that's got to be a selling point.

I bought a $100 pair of Vortex Binos recently for a kid and I don't think you could get another $100 set of Binos any better from someone else. Pretty darn good.

I have the crossfire 2 and I love it for the money. It’s clear, holds zero, picks up light good. I have no complaints

I’ve got a crossfire ii 6-24x50 30mm on my Bergara. It’s doesn’t seem very clear and crisp to me, but I think that’s a combination of the magnification and I was shooting another rifle with a VX5hd when I was sighting it in so very biased. It did track very well when I was dialing it in. Overall good scopes for the money.

My Savage 110 came with a 4x12-42 crossfire II. It seems to be a clear scope that captures light well in low light situations. I dont have any complaints either. Welll, maybe 1. I wish it would have clicks when adjusting. Kind of have to guess how far you dial it up or over.

Dang, I wish it had clicks too. Can you at least FEEL any kind of click? That’s the only thing I don’t like about my Leupold Freedom- you definitely don’t hear an audible click and you barely can tell if it clicked in another slot or anything.

Smooth as butter. No feeling of any resistance at all.

I've had a a couple. Still have one on a 7-08. It clicks but is "mushy" for lack of a better word.
All I've mounted/owned have been that way
They are supposed to be click adjustable.

I had 2 Crossfife gen 1 models and both had to go back to Vortex for warranty.
They replaced them with Gen II scopes.

I have more vortex scopes than ay other brand. Other than the original Crossfire line which you practically can't find anymore, the only one I've had a problem with was the Copperhead.
It was junk and I didn't even want to warranty it so I took it back to SImmons for a refund

A few of my buddies have the Crossfire IIs. They really like them. They Burris fullfield IIs are also great budget friendly scopes also.

Mine clicks very softly. Mushy as gundoc said is a great description. I don’t adjust mine very often at all so it hasn’t been an issue really.

I have a Whiskey III w/the Ill dot 50mm. I have it mounted on my Ruger predator .308 and love it. Was not sure about the dot. But for MY eyes, the dot is better than the reticle.

The Diamondback HP and Diamondback Tactical are decent scopes.

The original Diamondback, not so much. Totally different erectors and lenses.

Like Gundoc I own more Vortex optics and anything else by a large margin. I own several Trijicon (ten mile, accupoint), Zeiss, and a few Sightmarks. I believe Vortex is the best bang for your buck in the $100-400 (on sale) price point.
