It’s a shame the poor rifle is chambered in such an inferior round. Remington 700 Classic .257Bob We’re not dead. We just smell that way. Dayum. - AC870 Yessir! One of the very early ones in .270 with 22" barrel when they were making them in several calibers before they started the one caliber a year series, and one in 7mm-08 with 24" barrel from the one caliber a year series. The earlier one is prettier, but both are great rifles. I was thinking about it the other day, as much as I carry and sit with a rifle in the woods vs. actually shooting it, I like having something to handle that's got some character and craftsmanship vs. the utilitarian mass-produced rifles of today. Not knocking those who enjoy the latter, just know what I like.
