Very good season. Took a kid hunting every single time I went. Never got to hunt by myself or any of the stands I hung in the woods. We will call it 4 each 130+ inch deer in adult range... one would probably push 150 a nice 10pt. Kid clean misses the 10 at hand grenade distance Buck Fever took eye off scope to look just as the tigger was pulled. and 3 were too far to shoot or the kid didn't feel confident. All these within 200 yards and a chip shot for an Adult.
You will figure out a lot about yourself and how much passing this sport down means to you... when you have a sold 140 inch deer standing 150 yards away in a wide open food plot. But you've got a kid next to you and they don't shoot for whatever reason and you let it walk off. And you say "We'll try again next Saturday". Borderline crazy but I did it several times over this season. One I would guess to have been probably the biggest I would have ever killed in AL. These kids don't come from families that regularly hunt. 2 of them Dad is not involved or in the picture at home.
Dam good season for me.
ALL kids FIRED UP and already talking about next season...... and what these deer are going to look like..... and how we are going to get them... Got one ready to get in a tree and out of a shooting house. Asking about when Bow season starts in the fall and NEVER even shot a real bow.
100% success rate in my book. Probably the best deer season I've ever had. At the beginning of the season I had no idea I would even hunt more than 2-3 times with a kid in tow. GOOD ON YOU for mentoring kids and getting them fired up about hunting!!!

Best season yet! My 8yr old daughter killed her target 10pt "Lucky" during youth weekend. She hunted him all last year and we saw him 5x, but never got a shot, hence the name "Lucky". My 5yr old son killed his 1st deer opening weekend, followed by his 1st buck (4pt) on Thanksgiving and then an 8pt on Jan 7th. I hunted very little by myself, but did manage to get a good 8pt on MLK. Spent last couple weeks chasing a big mature 9pt with my son, but never got a shot. Son is determined to get a shoulder mount now that his sister has one!

I had a good season.
I harvested 3 bucks but failed to reach my goal of getting my wife her first buck. My third buck was actually a deer that she shot the day prior in the leg. I was fortunate to see that deer again and get a bullet in him, and that turned out to be my third one. I got to learn a new place and saw hundreds of deer. I went to the woods two times all season and didn't see deer and most of the time I was in double digit sightings on every sit.
It was a very enjoyable season.

To be clear kids did shoot a couple but we see lots of small bucks so it just works out that way.... they wind up wanting to kill a big one and I get to teach them a whole lot more about what is going on in that process. Then it sort of clicks and they realize what they are doing. And now THEY are hunting not just riding along to blast a deer. Or at least I was fortunate enough this season for that to happen. I try to make them handle their own rifles take their own shots all that. Self reliance is also important since maybe they'll have to do it on their own if I'm not around to take them. 1 problem... Now 3 of them are asking me what this Turkey hunting business is all about
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

Blessed to be able to go but by far the worst I’ve ever had hunting wise. Missed an 8 and didn’t see any other really shoot able bucks nor did I see many deer this year. Work got in the way of going and had crappy weather a lot of the times I went. Had a lot of fun at the camp and my 9mo old son came to the camp for the first time so just due to that, it made it a memorable one! Stay out of the duck blind and you may see more deer.

Good! Killed two mature bucks Saw some better younger ones Saw 20 different bucks in single day Killed more does than CNC thinks should be legal Didn’t have the usual 130”+ to hunt but I won’t complain
You're only as good as your worst shot-

Worst AL season in over 20 years for me. Hoping to change that in the next day before the rains hit... Can’t believe it but I finally killed my target buck this evening. What a turn of events! I’m a Happy Camper now and done for the seaon! It was an old 6pt (no brow tines). 18.5” inside, 24” main beams.

Heck yea - congrats man - awesome
If u no how to post pics (i dont 😀) post him
I basically did same - frustrating season then it happened.
When i hav gotten opportunities at mountable in past - lot has gone wrong. I hav mounted deer - but several got away. From shooting a branch to firing cap on a muzzy not going off to studying too long then the shot gone cause he leaving going straight away

I’d say fair. Part of that is because I still have some meat from last year so I haven’t been after them like I usually am. I killed a mature 11pt and a doe this season . I hunt 3 different counties and in Georgia, I usually see a couple dozen 3+ year old bucks in a season, this year I think I’ve only seen 7. I didn’t hunt Georgia or bow hunt Alabama at all so that will affect the numbers some.

I’m 67. Every year I’m still able to go is a good year. I didn’t kill a shooter this year but that’s ok. I’m very picky.
