2015 Kawasaki Prairie 360 4WD. It needed a new belt as it had the original on it and it was starting to slip so I replaced the belt. It worked fine for awhile then it got so that when it got warm (runs fine cold) it won't pull, for lack or a better term, but the tires will spin. We thought it was a clutch problem (auto transmission), so we replaced the clutch and still have the issue. My friend that knows way more about those things than I believes it must be a bearing or something that seizes up when it gets warm. Any ideas from Aldeer?

Are the brakes locking up? I’m confused as to what you are trying to describe.

Nope brakes are fine. I'm having trouble explaining it to myself. The tires spin in the dirt but it just won't pull my big fat butt. It doesn't make sense to me. Yes, I've taken it to the man and hopefully he'll figure it out.

Bearings or axles. Or some blankly blank sensor.

Got the same machine but it’s a 2012. Did you use a Kawasaki belt? Belt light on or off? You probably know this but the belt light will come on after a certain amount of hours . I remember mine doing it but the belt was fine. I can’t remember it going to a limp mode though. I think there’s a specific adjustment too. Have heard the aftermarket belts aren’t good.

Torque converter?

When you say the tires spin, do you mean they turn freely if you push the machine by hand?

No, I mean they spin when you give it gas but they just dig dirt and won't move the machine. Dr. Matt, as far as I can tell, the belt is not the problem. Let me ask you a question. Anthony Draime is good on 4 wheelers and UTVs and he retired from the County schools keeping the busses running and bought or is managing Selmont Service Center after John Friday died, do you happen to know if he is working on ATVs/UTVS there?

If it the rear tires are digging dirt, than everything from the belt back is working. Only way you could do that in my mind is if something is locked up in the front. That’s why I asked about the brakes.

I had a Polaris one time that I let sit for a while and both pistons on the front brake calipers were stuck and it was doing kinda as you are describing.

Transfer case locking up?

That’s weird….
Gotta be a drive shaft or u joint locked up. I don’t believe I’ve ever heard of that.
I’d take every wheel off and start looking at brakes and u joints, drive shaft. I’d be interested in hearing what it is.

Jack it up and see if the tires are spinning the same. Does it sound like it is bogging? is the engine revving? While jacked up when you gas it do the tire spin faster elevated?
