Gomer... because they aren't worried about losing a 60lb doe. They can shoot another one in the ass next trip.

Yes, anything from .223 on up will kill them. I've killed a pile with a .22 LR in my less discriminating days. But I do prefer stuff on the bigger side. Recoil should not be an issue for anything 300 mag on down, for a grown man. Any common deer hunting caliber will be lower recoil than a 12 gauge shotgun. We can go shoot clays or doves and no-one bitches about recoil. Hand them a deer rifle and folks act like they will lose their shoulder. I like to have a little room for error. It is true that nothing trumps bullet placement, but, lets face it bullet placement is not always perfect. I shot a buck at about 210 yards running in December with 30-06. I did not lead enough and hit it in the gut. It ran 30 yards and piled up. Try that with any of these " Big enough" rifles and get ready to call a dog.

I've got more beef with magnum hunters using their cannons as a crutch for poor shooting than I do with the pee shooter gang.

My wife made an unfortunate bad shot on an 8 point last Sat morning and hit it in the leg. Didn’t break bone just went through the meat on its shank right where it comes out of its shoulder. I caught it in some thin pines on Sun morning at 245 yards and shot it through the shoulders with that worthless 6.5. It dropped right on its keister but I’m sure it was about to drop anyway from the initial shot with her 7mm-08.

People that shoot creedmoors drank the hornady kool-aid and think they are all long range shooters plus they use shitty bullets which is probably the biggest issue with the Jesusmoore. I've looked all over the place and I just can't seem to find what it does any better than my other calibers even the 308...

Now look here!!!!!!………we established the .308 earlier this week!
Ha! I will say that I love my 6.5prc and my buddy I hunt with, he and his wife had used the 6.5 creedmoor almost exclusively for a while with great success. However they have moved over to the 6.5prc.
Just a little more ass in the 6.5prc.

Hunting brings out the worst in people.

I thought I wanted a big magnum rifle. I got a Mauser .300WM… sighted it in on a led sled. Wasn’t too bad. Then I shot a doe with it. At 110yards it dropped her in her tracks. Not even a big exit wound. But it almost blew me out the back of the shooting house. When I cleaned her there was a hole though both ribs and lungs I could almost stick my fist through. I decided it was overkill and traded it to deadeye48 for his wife’s Tikka 7mm-08. I’ve been happy with the change.

There are sooooo many cartridges out there. If you look at ballistics charts there seems always be 3-5 that all perform pretty much the same. Just shoot what you are confident and comfortable with. I’m sure it will be fine. Just don’t tell goatkiller about it if it’s a pea shooter.
