Sears used to sell pretty good full sized homes through the catalogue. I would think Amazon could do just as well or better. I'm pretty sure I spent about a few years living in a couple of Sears houses before the wife and I settled. I know people that live in them today. https://www.searshouses.com/

Heck to the no! Built one pushing 4000sq/ft and mine was literally talking to me through a wall from her pantry to our garage as I was trying to leave. Politely told her I couldnt understand a word she said and then got the heck out of there.

Not too many people can remember those house kits from the Sears and Roebuck catalog If you really want to learn the history of the real people of the United States since the end of the Civil War to about 1990 start with the Sears catalogue. It has everything in it and everything in it reflects everything that was going on at that time.

If it was just me and the wife, we could easily make do with < 1000sqft. In fact, the first 2 houses we rented when we got married were 1100 and 900 respectively, and that was with an infant and a dog.

I've known of people living in sixteen foot RVs as their permanent residence. I couldn't do it.

I've known of people living in sixteen foot RVs as their permanent residence. I couldn't do it. ha, I will say during my formative years I worked as an instrument tech in construction and my wife, and I dragged a 30 ft park model camper around the country for 10 years, the freedom was actually pretty good, and my wife liked it. Wife and I lived on an ocean-going v-hull houseboat for five years that was 14x45 foot. Was five of the best years we've ever had. In saying that we would never go back and do it again because of the cost associated with that type of living. That was done in the early 90's when cost were cheap but still triple what it cost to live on land. The space was not a problem because you figure out that the things you think are needed or important really aren't needed at all. Oh the square footage living space was only 315 sq ft.

A small house ain’t bad if you have a good size yard for a storage shed. I started out in 850 sqf but I had 4 acres with it. We are in a 1234 sqf with a 3.5 yo and it’s not too bad. Kitchen is small and the yard is small. If I didn’t have a hunting addiction and all the goodies that go with it or just like doing thing outdoors, it would be fine. If both people worked full time and possibly different hours, maybe. Being stuck in 300 sqf all the time would be miserable. my plan is to have the big freezer and washer , dryer and some storage area in the storage building i stay mostly in now . one end i'll turn into a cooler to hang 2 or three deer in . ill live the the 32x32 house. all i need be no kids . im gonna drink coffee and watch the sun rise drink a beer and watch it set . lol
