Its a like-new late model Eastern European country that needs a new home.I just got laid-off so Ukraine is up for sale. Face to face, cash only. It does come with a crazy old man, a drug addict, and a greedy midget who wears soldier costumes.

I hate to be "that guy", because most of you know I'm totally against foreign intervention of any kind, but...
From my research on the subject over 60% of that money is in the form of stockpiled weaponry that we had mostly in mothballs and were going to have to liquidate in the future at substantial costs anyway. Some of it is paying our weapons suppliers to upgrade and make useable older equipment. Some of it is in the form of paying our guys and gals to train their troops to use the equipment. And a much smaller portion is in the form of goods and supplies to feed, cloth, house, and tend to medical needs of people, and an even smaller amount is to shore up the Ukraine government to make up for the lost revenues during a time of war.
Is some of that coming back to the US to line the pockets of politicians and the war profiteers? Sure it is, but we have to keep in mind that the majority of the $100 billion (Not sure where the number comes from.) is really simply "On the Books" and most of that equipment would have had to either: Been maintained, mothballed, or disposed of and all of that would have costs us money in the long term anyway.
The bottom line with this war, is that we are doing a lot of damage not only to the Russian War machine, but we are also doing irreparable harm to their population and their ability to make war in the future, plus as an added bonus we are revealing to the world how poorly their weapons perform in an actual war. Which is doing irreparable harm to their arms industry. Being able to amortize your high dollar weapons by selling them to foreign countries helps the manufacturer make a profit and encourages the manufacturer to make even better weapons.
We are doing all that by simply giving old weapons to a future NATO member and not one US service person is fighting and dying. So in my book, it's a good value for the USA.

All you have to do is just look at what is right in front of you.......
Is Russia really that scary? I mean... they pretty well got 100% stopped cold by a civilian army armed with shoulder fired weapons.
Russia is going to "invade" and overtake Eastern Europe? Ok, exactly how are they going to do this? They can't advance in Ukraine. What would they do facing off against a real military with Air Power and Tanks?
It's a complete joke is what it is and pure Propaganda.
Putin and Russia are what is called a Paper Tiger. What we are doing in Ukraine has to do with spending money. The United States Taxpayer's money.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

Putin and Russia are what is called a Paper Tiger. What we are doing in Ukraine has to do with spending money. The United States Taxpayer's money. Bingo. The fact we (the US and NATO allies) forced Ukraine to scuttle peace talks early on in this conflict tosses out any moral argument we may have had for providing support and aid. Gotta face facts that our country’s leadership values enriching defense contractors over peace and the lives of those involved. If national defense was a true priority, there wouldn’t be open borders and we wouldn’t be actively meddling in the affairs of other countries half a world away.

by scuttle peace talks, you mean give up and allow your country to be taking over? How'd the last peace talks in 2014 work out?
