i have that exact setup , 62gr barnes (vortex brand) is .75” all day. shot 70gr the best, 55 was 1.5”. 62gr is shooting 2990fps avg
Give me bout 15 more minutes, I was dreamin about beavers..........

How would a short barrel rifle such as a ruger American rancher with a 9” supressor compare to a standard length barrel none suppressed accuracy wise? Same set up in 308 and 300blkout. Hunt with Core-Lokts and Barnes in 300blk 100 yards under 2" all day long at the range.

100-150 yards is most of my shots hunting (deer pigs yotes). I have shot 75-300 yards at the range with no issue at all, just remember if you go out and forget your can, your POI will not be the same. Now subsonic ammo is a completely different beast.

I've got a 16" barrel 6.5 with a yhm resonator k. 1/2 moa out to 300 yds at the range. Killed several deer with it between 200 to 300yds, and got a coyote at 381. Accuracy is no problem what you give up is velocity. I'm getting about 2475 fps, which is a little over 200 fps less than the same load out of one of my 24" barrels. At 300yds, the drop increases from 7 to 10 inches, 400 from 20 to 28, and 500 from 41 to 55. Energy wise you are giving up about 200 yds, which is to say the bullet will perform at 200yds the same as one at 400yds out of a 24" barrel. I don't think I will try a shot on a deer beyond 350yds for this reason. I also try to avoid shoulders as much as possible, especially over 150yds or a really big deer. If I'm on a powerline or a clear cut I'm probably gonna have one of my 300's, but in a tree or a shooting house that short suppressed barrel is great to have. Pm me if you need anymore info.
