My SBE2 is having ejection issues. It won’t eject even high brass shells. I cleaned it throughly and even took the recoil spring out through the stock but the bolt is still sluggish. I’m thinking it’s the recoil spring. I’m the original owner and bought it pretty soon after they came out and it’s my favorite shotgun but as of now, it’s not going to the field. Any suggestions?

Did you clean (and lightly lube) the tube the recoil spring rides in?
Will it cycle and eject by hand? That would eliminate extractor issues

Replace the recoil spring I personally like the Wolf 25% extra power but just going back with a stock spring is a safe bet too. Both are readily available.

mine did the same thing with the exception that it would shoot high brass. cleaned it, oiled the recoil spraying and shot high brass with the action dry and it freed up
read this same thing on a benelli forum and the aftermarket recoil springs was the overwhelming response

Does the extractor leave a mark on the brass when it tries to grip the shell upon firing ? Does the shell stay on the chamber or stovepipe out the ejection port ?

Oiled with oil in gun cleaning kit. Shell stays in chamber and may stovepipe every now and then. I haven’t cleaned it again yet.

You either have some rust on the chamber wall or the extractor spring is bad or extractor is broken

You either have some rust on the chamber wall or the extractor spring is bad or extractor is broken Seeing as it has a chrome lined bore I'm leaning more to extractor spring. Possibly a broke extractor
