First night at camp it was Moscow Mules by the fire before dinner.

Dinner was fried deer cube steak and gravy over garlic and chive smashed potatoes. Paired well with a Cabernet.

Second night camp dinner was gonna be a treat!! Crock pot quail and pheasant!! Been wanting to do this for a while. Around lunch time, I salt and peppered the birds and fried them to a light crispy golden brown.
[Linked Image]
While they were frying, I put a can each of cream of chicken, cream of mushroom, and cream of celery along with 1 large diced onion into the crock pot. I then added the birds, stirred them all together, set that bad boy on high for 4 hours, and went hunting! After a fruitless hunt, when I pulled the ranger into my camper area, I could smell the aroma outside before I even shut the machine off!! Lordy, I was salivating before I walked inside! I couldn’t resist a little peak!

While the birds were warming in the crockpot, I made a few apps. Summer sausage and cheese varieties with Dukes mayo on crackers. Yum!!

Then took the apps to the fire and sipped on Bulleit in a bullet glass!

When I got around to finally eating, I served the fowl on some wild rice and a side of asparagus. Paired it with a 2021 smooth, almost buttery Chardonnay. Meat literally fell off the bones. Dang fine meal!

After dinner, had some fellowship with some members at another trailer. The summer sausage apps were a hit there too!
Before heading to bed, I had a little sweet tooth so a few double stuff Oreos and cold milk hit the spot!!

I slept well!!
