I just finished a Podcast series about him. Credited with killing 3,000+ bears, fought for the CSA during the Civil War, took Teddy Roosevelt hunting twice, and lived to be 90 yrs old. Oh, and he was a black man born a slave. The story was on the Bear Grease podcast.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.
My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

Not only did he take Roosevelt hunting, he roped and caught the bear and tied it to a tree.

Yep, Greenville, MS. It was a great listen from Clay. I could listen to one of the guys he interviewed, Hank Burdine I think was his name, tell stories all day. Bear Grease is a great podcast for anyone looking for something to listen to. Mr. Burdine recently passed and we lost a great story teller, a wealth of knowledge on the Big Muddy River levee and an all around great individual!
experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....
