I'll probably never own another scope of any kind and I have had them all. The Firedot is a fine feature that you will really like. I have a brand new one, still in the box, just waiting for whatever my next rifle might be. Buy yourself one. If you don't like it you could always sell it to me for 1/2 price! That being said I bought 2 vx5hd off web a few years ago and the dot on both were not centered on crosshairs. Both where low left of center. Didn't like that so I sent them done road. Haven't tried them since. Had vxr first and it was right. It's the only leupold I have. I have 5 zeiss and love them Jesus died for you,what are you doing for him?
