When you head out to fish for bass, crappie, catfish or whatever, do you plan out what spots or pattern you want to target the night before? What online map do you use to figure things out?

Lately, I've been using Navionics Online Map and it's pretty cool to figure out the what's and where's before you hit the water.

I went out this afternoon for a couple of hours on the Big G and it sucked. I finally found some crappie that wanted to bite around the 69 causeway bridge, but not many. The fish were absolutely STACKED in there but very few felt like chewing.

My dad kept a journal. Every time he put his boat in the water, he wrote in it.. wished I had it bc I fish the same lakes. Usually a number of things go through my head. Weather, water temp, and time of year… I usually remember the good days in certain spots and go from there adding in the season, weather and water temps.. water color is a player

I usually know exactly where I'm going, before I go to sleep the night before. This fall and winter, it's been mostly like this.... Wherever I was, crappie weren't in the mood to bite. I have sat on the edge of a school of probably 1000 and thrown everything in the boat at them and caught zero. This has been the worst winter I've had since I learned how to catch crappie. They haven't been where they normally are, and when they have been they wouldn't bite. I bet I haven't caught 100 this winter.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
