Just got back from hunting yesterday and today. A group of 10 of us killed one gadwall yesterday and one drake mallard in two days. I shot one time in two days. Geeses are everywhere buck very few ducks.

That’s crazy. I certainly hope it gets better this week with this front.

It is pretty slow in S. Illinois too. But, 3 of us were able to scratch out 15 today. But we didnt see many at all. It just helped having the biggest open water in the area (5-7 acres).

Reelfoot is smashing em. They have been having to run the boat trails all through the night to keep it open to their blind.

They want them a lot worse than I do. Screw that.

Yea definitely a hard pass. They probably pay some high school kids to do it or the local crack head.

I haven't heard many good reports from the north delta either. Tallahatchie, Quitman, Coahoma counties etc.

It was cold yesterday and the high winds had blown all the decoys to the south and locked some up in ice. It took a bunch of work to free and haul 4 dozen specks and a couple dozen duck decoys 200 yards through the water against a 30 mph in the dark. Everything that splashed froze and my gloves were soaked. Thankful to have a heater in the pit because I was a frozen ball of ice.

I just picked the wrong field. My buddy's uncle limited out in an hour. He had standing corn in his field and the ducks were all over it.

We use to have an airboat in the shed.. just for when the lake froze over. We can hunt 12. You'd be surprised at what anyone who's ever been on a hunt like it before would do for 72 ducks in 1 day. I would just about swim out there even today.

No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

I’ve been on hunt’s like that. Killed a 10 man limit of green heads by 7:45 one morning. Kept calling down 30-40 at a time out of a flock of about 1500 that just kept circling our field.

I hunted a rice field that was 8” thick with ice. Kept the hole open with a tractor for 2 days. There was a red ring around the open hole by about 8:00 each morning. Ducks getting in the hole while we drove the tractor through it.

But riding in a boat up and down the creek with a frozen snot mustache?? I’m too old for that now lol.
