Update from this morning: She wasn't expected to live through the night, but she did. They were able to drain some very infected stuff out of her lungs. They positioned her to lying on her stomach which helped her rest. They are more optimistic about her living now more so than in when she first went to the hospital but even if she makes it they have no idea what condition her lungs will be left in.

To explain how fast this happened I'll give a timeline. Brooks (my high school friend and now hunting buddy) and Lynn (his wife) were up here last weekend because her father is ill. They took him to the ER on Saturday and he was treated and released after doing better. Then Sunday he worsened so they took him back and he was admitted. I spoke to Lynn and said that I was going to Selma on Thursday to take my MIL back to spend time with her sister who is on her final journey with cancer, so if Brooks needed to go back to work and I know Lynn wanted to stay with her dad for a few days, she was welcome to ride back with us. So that was the plan until Wednesday when Lynn said she was going to stay and Brooks was going to come back this weekend. She then asked if I could bring some stuff back with me after I hunt Thursday? Yes, I'll drive 4 hours to hunt for an afternoon this year every now and then. So Brooks and I hunted Thursday and he gave me a package of clothes and meds to bring back for Lynn. Then before I could get it to her on Friday morning Brooks called and said Lynn was sick so he was coming back up here to take her to Urgent Care so I went to her Dad's house and left the package with a can of Chicken Noodle Soup since we do stuff like that in the South. Then Brooks called and said they were having him take her to the hospital. I'm thinking well she is sicker than they thought. Brooks called me later to say they were admitting her. Then about 5 yesterday, he called me and said he was coming over. I knew he was upset so I said I'd come get him but he was already close to the house. That takes us up to where the original post begins. Lynn went from feeling bad from the flu Friday morning to fighting for her life in a day.

Also, in your prayers, if you would remember my wife's Aunt, Sue Huffman as she is on what the drs. say is her last few days on earth, but Glory awaits her and she is prepared and ready.
