My wife and I have 3 kids. We have taken the first two on a trip just Mom/Daughter and Son/Dad and now #3 is up to go. He loves to fish and wants to go to Florida "Trophy" Bass Fishing. I'd rather take him hunting somewhere but he's way more into fishing than hunting. However, if I can delay it till spring, he's on the stick for the first turkey of the three this year if we are lucky so I may get to take him hunting after all? Do any of yall have any suggestions or experiences in FL with guided fishing trips.

I have been on one guided fishing trip in my life, with Jimmy Mason on Pickwick for smallmouths and it was great, but it was me and my Father in Law. Taking an 8 year old, who's not a whiney turd but is still 8, is another story. Preciate any info yall may have.

Rodman reservoir, Stick marsh/farm 13, or Fellsmere reservoir. Great shiner fishing for big bass in January and February. Plenty of guides to choose from.

Im gona take my son after graduation next year for a guided peacock bass trip, and a tarpon trip. Thats my offer to him in lieu of a trip to panama city where he can get drunk and screw whores for senior week. He said he would take the fishing trip.

Ive not booked the trips yet but boca grand for tarpin, somewhere in south fla for the peacocks. Planning on driving down spending one day fishing for peacocks then driving down to boca grand and tarpin fishing the next day. Ive got a year or so to figure it out. I have googles searched and looked at some of the trip prices. Its not all that bad. I think $500=600 per trip

I’ve fished Boca Grand plenty of times but never with a guide. It’s a mad house down there but he will probably have success. The full moon in June is usually the best. If it doesn’t work out, bring him to Okaloosa Island Pier in July and I will hand him a rod with a swim bait tied on. Tell him to throw when everyone else does!
