we are thinkin of doin bowhunt only on the new Soterra lease. unless we just have a ton of movement on the cutovers. anyone doin this? I kinda like the idea of not shooting every weekend out there and making less of an impact to help bring/keep deer.

.... forgot to mention. we did this on a lease in winston county and it payed off in dividends. We had a lot of kills and really never needed to stretch out the long pole.

During the rut there will be lots of movement on the clear cuts.
Really the only time I hang up the bow.

Life is too short to only hunt and fish on weekends!

clear cuts are lined on one side with hardwoods. i more or less feel like they will move through those areas to make it to the cutovers

our club is bow hunting only. its only about 1000 acres. it is a blast and always see deer. may not get to shoot them all the time but also see a bunch of bucks. you also see and learn a bunch of deer behavior. wish it was 5000 acres

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

My phone screen does not always work right, usually a lot of misspelled words....

I thought about leasing some land for bow only until the last 2 weeks of season, which is our rut. Sounds interesting.

Hmmm.... I have had the opportunity to lease land and I did want a bow hunting only membership but I did not think I could have rounded up that many like-minded hunters that wanted to "bow hunt only".

Well, maybe there's hope!

One of the best properties, in Alabama, I've ever hunted was a bow only lease in Montgomery county. Saw lots of deer and they killed some huge bucks off it over the last few years.
