How many pounds of seed is there in a 55 gallon drum? I think this is a pretty good deal but I want to know how many drums I will need to plant plots. A servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ. Teacher One 14 point T Joined: Dec 2009 Posts: 9,008 Colbert County	We did that a week ago with wheat. Each drum had a little over 300# in it. We did not fill them all the way to the top to keep the wheat from blowing out as we drove it to the lease. I can't stand a thief.
