I wear Hokas now. If you can find a Fleet Feet or another similar type store, they will have you stand on a sensor and then walk across a different pad and it gathers info about your foot shape and how you walk which assists them in finding the best brand/style of shoe for your foot.
Hokas and Brooks were the brands recommended and I tried both on and then chose the one felt best to me, but they also recommended inserts as well, which I have continued to buy. Those I just move from pair to pair as needed. I have more than one pair of Hokas (maybe it is a girl thing ). I have read, though, that is good to have two pair of the same brand/style so you can alternate and each pair can fully dry and air out between days worn. It supposedly helps them last longer (more than the fact that they are only warn half as much in the same time period).
Its and easily fixable situations and doctors can’t do it.
Stretch the calves, kneel and lean forward in a muslim prayer position and other stuff on youtube. Wear flat flexible shoes with no support. You’ll be cured in about three weeks.
Support causes atrophy, weakness, and shrinkage of the muscles and ligaments just like carpal tunnel syndrome. The foot is complex as heck designed by God !

Lota good suggestions here. I spent most of my working years on concrete. I learned the trick of having two pair of shoes late in my working career. Game changer. I'd swap em out every couple of weeks to a month. Often I'd rip out the insoles when new and drop in a pair of Power Step insoles. I remember all my life older folks saying " take care of you back and feet". Dang fine advice.

Finally some good advice.
Arches don't need support. Arches ARE the support. You need to strengthen your calves and feet. Get a slant board or make one. Stretch you Achilles daily. Get some zero drop shoes. My personal favorite are a brand called Xero. Just walking in these shoes will strengthen your feet. I'd also recommend dragging/pushing a weighted sled to strengthen your feet. Jumping rope is another great exercise.
Arch supports and modern footwear are detrimental to foot health. They lead to weak feet and calves. Weak feet and calves lead to instability and falls. Falls in older people that result in broken bones typically end in severely diminished health or death. Strengthen your feet!

I probably hold the record that will never be broken for leaving the most combat boots on missions, support is only good for one thing, landing a jump. First thing I did when I hit the ground was ditch the boots and put on my specially made moccasins. After a mission was complete they used to joke at the distance I traveled for evac when I made comms again.

I also built a device modeled after one on base. I did it cheaply so its basically 4” PVC mounted to a 2x8. You walk the pipe back and forth barefoot for strengthening and balance.
Its funny as hell when I’m on walkabout with young troops and they are just worn down and I’m just fine.
