I built one a few years ago in 6.5 Grendel. In its current state it’s got the stabilizing brace on it. I can’t remember the manufacturer of the lower but the upper is a Palmetto State Armory stainless steel with the barrel lined. I’m thinking about selling it as I never use it and honestly it’s a right handed rifle and I am a left handed shooter and I’m tired of blowback and brass whizzing by my nose.

What is the current legality of me placing it for sale? I know there’s been a lot of activity in the last year regarding these things.

From what I read, it’s back and forth.

If you want to be safe, just take the stock off minus the buffer tube. I doubt it will affect value. Or just buy a cheap buffer tube and sell the stock separate.

Just get you a left handed upper receiver and switch everything to it.

Its only illegal if they catch you with it. Dont go off running around brandishing it and youll be fine. Heck, they might be legal next week. These modern gun laws are pretty silly. Laws are made for criminals anyhow.

I may take the stock off of it and post it up as suggested with the stock to the side.

As of RIGHT NOW*....it's legal to sell with the *brace* on it. Be careful interchanging the words "stock" and "brace". They are entirely different things in the eyes of the ATF.

*Subject to change.

Concur with Hunterbuck. Brace rule was recently enjoined nationwide. The legal machine isn’t done with that case, though it appears that it will be defeated. So that brace you surely had separated from that pistol for most of this year appears good to go. A stock on that pistol makes it a Short Barreled Rifle which would be a no no if you didn’t complete the appropriate forms and paid some money to Uncle Sam. I’m no lawyer, but as the rule is currently dead, sell the pistol anytime you want.

With a brace you’re legal once again. Stock is a different thing

It’s a brace. Poor terminology on my part.

You can just sell the upper and reconfigure the lower to a standard config. Always nice to have a few lowers laying around.

Braces were never illegal. ATF cant make law. However, recently the courts have "officially" made them "legal".

Just get a left handed upper and sell the other upper. Stag makes some sweet uppers, left or right handed!! But then so does everybody else.
