We need rain! Mild weather and no rain= no TVA current flow and not much feeding. It’s been hard to scratch 10+ in a trip for the past month.

They still biting on Martin, though running kinda small. I couldn't buy a bite on a Bobby Garland jig, but some on the outside of the school couldn't resist a rap jig.

Still not seeing many schooling bass and no stripers at all.

We got into some much better fish today; cleaned 25 and over half of them were in the 13-15" range. I will credit most of these to the equipment instead of any angling skill. smile

The combination of a LS, rap jig, BFS reel and custom rod makes them a lot easier for me to catch. I hold the rod by the foregrip with my index finger on the blank and the line running under my thumb and I feel the light hits that would be missed with a spinning rod.

For crappie, it usually doesn't take much. Just twitching the rod tip is usually the best way. The schooling bass bite better most of the time with bouncing it pretty hard.

Thanks, but I don't consider that to be work. smile

I don't know of any way to get rods like that except to build them myself. I bought the components from Mudhole. Those are 6'6" light action blanks.

Thanks. I hadn’t seen a pistol grip in years and was wondering if someone started making them again.
They would be great for crappie fishing.

Caught 3 today…all 11-12”. They were about 5-6’ down in about 10-12’ of water. The softest bite I’ve ever experienced. Was in the kayak so didn’t have the luxury of trying more than a couple spots
