How much are you guys paying for processing? My buddy took a buck to a place in Montgomery and this is what they charged him. Seems completely outrageous to me, I usually process my own but the last time I took one it was only like $85 for a basic cut.

+/- 147lb carcass weight @ $1.15/lb basic cut = $169
5lbs of jalapeno cheese summer sausage $36
Total: $205

Dang, I haven’t paid to have it done in years but best I can remember it’s was around $70 just cube steak and burger. I know it’s work but seems high to me

I’ve paid $124 for a doe this year ungutted. 6 packs of snack sticks the rest in bacon burger with the backstraps and loins whole. Also $136 for my nephew’s first buck. 4 packs snack sticks, bacon burger, cube steak. Also had the deer caped for a shoulder mount. It’s a lot of money, but both times it was purely for convenience and worth it to me. Now, if I kill many more this year (which I doubt), I will gut, skin and quarter myself and then freeze the quarters. At the end of the year I would take it to have the quarters processed. Saved money that way in the past, but for those of us killing one or two a year, it’s worth it to me not to have to fool with processing my own

Some processors are better than others and sausage is expensive.

It be's that way sometimes.

I pay around 200 per deer. I have all the ground turned into sausage because I’ve had plenty of ground deer to last me a while.

I'm glad I do my own. That's crazy. I understand for the specialty stuff but for just basic cuts, wow.

I paid $84 for about 42lbs of Burger with beef fat last week. It was already de-boned and on ice.
FYI-My wife is ordering the Kitchen aid grinder attachment Irishguy recommended when I get home tonight. I will be processing all my own from now on

100 if it’s dressed, 110 if not.

Choice of steaks, breakfast sausage and burger (with or without fat)

Why would someone say what someone else charges to do something that , that person doesn't want to is too high? If it's too much do it yourself!

You've never said something seemed like it was priced too high? Ever?

I agree, it’s no different than plumbers and electricians charging high ass prices for years of experience. Or what some of these folks pay for a week to stay at the beach. My money and I’ll spend it how I see fit, same as yall. Just how I see it.

I pay around $85-100 a deer, just according to where I take it. Deer hunters sure whine and bitch a lot don’t they. 🤣🤣

Seems that in North Alabama the going rate for a basic cut of a field dressed deer is $100.00

I’ve often wondered this. These processors have to pay labor, utilities, permitting fees, equipment etc and still have to make enough to make a living. If you drop off a whole deer and get products back for $200 or less you’d think it’d be worth that. 🤷🏼‍♂️
