What will happen if/when Bama beats Georgia next Saturday??......Will they put Florida St, Oregon, and Texas ahead of Bama for playoff spots??

i wouldn't waste a lot of time worrying about that. It took a series of miracles and mistakes for Bama to squeak by a barely bowl eligible mediocre Auburn team last night. Talk about juju all you want, but the Tide has a lot of weaknesses, and GA is going to expose them all.

If Bama were to somehow beat Georgia, they would be SEC champs, it would make sense they would get in. It’s hard to believe no SEC would get in.

Alabama hasn’t moved from #8 in 6 weeks. It’s pretty obvious they will need to beat Georgia convincingly and get a little help from some underdogs in the conference championship games next weekend.

Just too many undefeated teams left and 1 loss teams ahead of them.

It will be hard to keep a 1 loss SEC champion that beat the number 1 team in the country behind Oregon even if they beat Washington. If FSU, and Michigan wins they are in. If Washington wins, they are in. I think if Bama beats Georgia, they could swap with Georgia. Texas is the problem. I’m hoping OSU pulls off the upset of Texas and clears the path, but that’s a long shot. If the committee puts more value in Bama beating Georgia than Texas beating Bama… that is the question.

If Bama beats Georgia, I’ll drive down to Cowboy’s ranch(if he still owns it) and buy 10 sausage biscuits.

I think that if bammer beats the dawgs, but I don't think it will happen, then absolutely they should get in. The question then would be do the dawgs still remain high enough in the standings to also get in. Same with Oregon and Washington. What if Oregon beats them in the PAC12 game? Do they both get in? There are a lot of scenarios that this could play out and some very angry fans when the four are picked.

I’m Bama through and through, but I think if we beat UGA by 100 we’re not getting in. Not only will there probably be 3 undefeated conference champs but the Bama and SEC fatigue is real. If Texas wins the committee has to put them in ahead of us. We didn’t get the job done against them and it probably will cost us a shot at the natty. I do feel like we beat UGA not because of talent and matchups but just the momentum of this season.

It's hard to imagine a playoff without the SEC champions, even if they have one loss.

I was of the opinion that Bama would get in if they win out because there are usually some upsets this time of year. But, the usual mayhem which seems to happen every year to shake things out hasn't happened...yet.

I think two of the top 4 may lose his weekend - Washington and FSU. FSU losing will open up one spot for another team, probably Texas if they win the BIG 12 CG. If Oregon wins they will take Washington's spot.

Bama still has problems even if they beat the Dawgs. I doubt the committee will place Bama above Texas and I think even if they lose to Bama, Georgia could still be in. They are the 2 time defending National Champion and have three straight undefeated regular seasons. Unless Bama wins bigly, they could be left out unless some unexpected things happen this weekend.

I believe they have kept Bama back and would love nothing more than to see Bama beat Georgia and b b neither are in. I think they don’t want any SEC team in. This will be their last year to control it so much. What will they do when 6 SEC teams make it in the new format? Force them to play each other in the first round as to eliminate as many as they can. They don’t want an SEC team to win another Natty

Yep! It's obvious they don't want Bama in. And unless the planets align, the aren't getting in.

What is Texas’ best win ? Bama?
In my opinion, a win over Georgia is a much better signature win than Texas has. It is an interesting thought though.

I think this year truly proves why playoffs need to be expanded. If Bama beats Georgia, and neither get in, do you really think Bama or Georgia are worse than the 4 that do get in??
