What would be the going rate for southern missouri? I have 80 acres with another 120 that I control. I cant lease the 120 but I can keep people off of it. All the property is timber and turkey hunting would be way better than deer.

It isnt great hunting like northern Missouri, but the guys I let hunt it this year shot a 162 inch deer off of it. I'm just exploring options because the guys I let hunt for free dont seem to appreciate it or do anything to make it easier on me.

Good landowners to the north who dont shoot any small deer and I control to the south for several square miles. There are some other landowners within a mile west, but mostly 1 family who Im sure arent managing for quality bucks.

I'm just trying to see if leasing would be worth my time.

Thanks

And I did look at a couple websites to see what rates were, but they were either stupid high, not close to me, or both. Plus I dont want to do short term and a bunch are listed like that.

My son in law was raised in Missouri. He said about twenty an acre but that could vary in different locations.

OK, I'm just trying to figure it out. I'm planning on a timber harvest and making a food plot. My original goal was to just not hunt it and then I let a neighbor go there this year who Ive let hunt the other 120 acres. But, it just isnt working out. When you let somebody hunt 200 aacres for nothing you'd think a thank you would be in order.

It isnt really about the money. But, I'm frustrated. If I let you hunt my place and you kill 2 nice bucks one of which goes over 160. It might be a good idea to stop by my house (1/2 mile from the gate) or give me a call.

Don’t get too frustrated there’s a majority of folks out there that would appreciate the situation. Some folks are just plain stupid especially if u ain’t charging them. I would be interested but I already do enough out of state hunting.

I have dealt with exactly what you’re describing. Last year I decided to try something different this year and took on one paying hunter. Working out well so far, he is a great fit here and I have my years food plot cost covered by someone else.

This sounds better than any monetary arrangement. I sure miss living on the gulf. Those shrimp, oysters, and boudin just aren't the same North of I-10.

Yep. I’m out. Can’t compete with a Cajun.

With the discounted DAV licenses if you're rated 60% or above, that would be a good deal to team up on

I would also be interested in this opportunity-especially a long term arrangement if possible. With the farming knowledge my son and I have, we could really raise your property management. Keep me in mind.

Well according to Aldeer protocol you’re supposed to go by order of replies but, after seeing marshmuds reply I would just plead the 5th and say that I didn’t see the other 4 replies before his.
