100% wool. First Lite, Cabelas, etc.

I have some 1980s era Duofolds that are wool on the outside and some sort of wicking material (not cotton) on the inside. Only wear them when it's really cold, otherwise, you burn up.

If you can find em, camels stand hunter (like a fuzzy green/tan) they are awesome. They don’t really breathe though so need to it be cold and don’t layer much over until in stand etc

If you want to be warm, get fleece. If you don’t, get wool.

I'm not a big fan of bass pro, but the cabalas base layers come in three different weights and are pretty good. I've used mine for about 4 years with no problems

Whatever you do…… at least look at Kuiu and First Lite zip off bottoms. First Lite may be a little softer…..
But being able to zip off in the morning if you’re moving a stand or scouting is huge w/o have to take everything off.
Kuiu just had a sale and FL just started.

Merino is soft, but so is some of the better synthetic and they last longer and most are somewhat anti microbial.
Zip off is where it’s at. My tops zip down to let air in and heat out.
Good luck

Minus 33. I’ve used First Lite, and countless synthetics but keep going back to Minus33. Their 3/4 zip-offs are legit.

I like the UA cold gear, but I have some old Gander Mountain wool based top and bottoms and they are very comfortable and breath better. I dont end up all sweated wet like with the UA cold gear when walking.

First light furnace top and bottom. Best I’ve used.

I've been looking at the first lite furnace. I get chilled pretty easy.

It is some nice stuff, just make sure to add some type of wind blocking outer layer as well.

First lite is good. I only have one quarter zip but I really like it as a layering piece.
For my first layer I either use underarmour cold gear or a merino wool set I got from Meriwool. The merino wool is warm but I get way to hot in it if I have a long walk.
