I have a 14 crewmax 5.7 trd off-road limited. Had it since 16 it has 115k on it, Had a seal replaced under warranty, oil changes and regular service. It’s been a nice predictably solid good riding truck so far.

Thanks for all the replies

Does Toyota make a 3/4 ton? Not here in the United States that I’m aware of. But I wasn’t aware if Fur knew it or not. I don’t understand why a vehicle manufacturer that makes the quality of a product like Toyota doesn’t sell a 3/4 ton or one ton truck here.

One thing that you don't hear about Toyota like you do with other brands: "Yeah, just stay away from production years **** - **** and the **** motors". Toyota makes good stuff CONSISTENTLY across all years and models. Yep , I got 5 and they best vehicles i ever owned . I was a Chevy man in the 80's but they are junk like all the Big 3 , To old to work on stuff now so buy what you want and good luck.

My 08 has 298K danged near trouble-free miles on it so there's a reason I went back with another Toyoter. I bought it with 148K on it and the only things I've had to do other than wear items are a couple of wheel bearings, a front axle and boot, and a thermostat. I'm guessing it has another 100K in it.

Love my Tundra. I think more about smiles per gallon vs miles per gallon. 2016 Tundra here. 167k trouble fee miles. Still runs like new. What’s even more impressive is im pretty hard on vehicles. Drive crappy roads. Truck is still tight and does sound like a rattle box

I've had Tundras, F150's, Silverado's and one Ram1500. The Ram1500 is the best one I've ever owned.

I’m not believing they didn’t fix your transmission for the shudder. It’s a known problem and I thought they had a recall? Had one replaced in. I 2018 GMC 1500 I bought off Vroom.com (a mistake I won’t repeat) but it was still under the 60k power train warranty at the time.
AFM hasn’t given you trouble either? Any GM 1/2 ton between about 05 and now is a damn ticking time bomb imho. It’s gonna crap the transmission or the cam and lifters (engine) within 10 years 90% of the time.
I wasn’t a turbo fan either until I bought my 16 F150 with a 3.5 EcoBoost. Knock on wood I’ve got 130k trouble free miles on it and it pulls like a train and will smoke any other stock 1/2 ton truck I’ve driven. I wouldn’t be scared of a new Tundra with the turbo V6 but I’d get the hybrid version as it’s got a lot of torque when the battery helps I’m told. Speaking of ticking time bombs that Eco Boost is on borrowed time as well

Mine also had the shudder and the torque converter was coming apart. Luckily still under warranty and they replaced the TC and valve body. Shifts like glass now. I got my truck at 20k miles and quickly deactivated the AFM. I only run full synthetic oil too. I’m hoping I can get a long life out of this engine and transmission.

I have the older I guess now it’s the 2nd gen tundra with the big v8. They are bullet proof what what I’ve seen. I can’t speak for the new v6 turbos.
