Thanks gents. He was a master of his craft for sure. Stocks were his forte, but he did everything but the engraving.

I can't wait to see yall's rifles with some big bucks in the field.

Model 110 savage in .270 vortex scope. Been my go to since the mid 90's,
Also Marlin 30-30 I believe is a 1980 model. 1st rifle I ever bought. Still a good shooter.

somebody shoot me a PM that can post pics

I'll be shooting the infamous 22-6mm aka .224tth and it'll be pushing 77 grains of lead at 3500fps
Deadly on everything out to 400yds

What's the difference between it and the middlestead?

The 22-6mm uses the 6mm Remington cartridge and the Middlestead uses the 243 Win
The 6mm Rem gives a little more case capacity thus a little more speed and distance and uses slower burning powders which gives more BBL life

Weatherby or savage in 7 mag or 25-06. Depends on the area and my mood. I have one spot I'll even break out the old 🗝️ thirdy thirdy...

I like hunting with my ML, especially for meat hunts. This year I thought about not shooting my T/C ML before taking it hunting and then decided, what the heck. I am glad I did! I had 3 of 4 ring screw heads broken. I have never had something like that happen in 45 years of hunting. I don't recall any specs on the 15+ year old rings. As far as I know, they have been intact even through last year when I took a nice buck. Since I chucked the old rings, I decided to add an optic with my new rings. I added a Riton 1 Primal 4-16X44 MOA reticle. I chose the MOA reticle so that I could dial in my ballistic data and have better distance aiming points. We all know that getting a clear sight picture is important because once you pull that trigger, you can't see a thing until the smoke clears.
