Check out YouTube The Hillbilly Kitchen two ingredient biscuits. She shows how to make pretty simple good biscuits as well as a number of other great recipes.

I didn't realize until I watched her just now that I've seen many of her videos before. Biscuits certainly do work for her. Hers look super good, and she has that magical touch.

I'm no good at all at cooking a darn thing, but I've watched hundreds and hundreds of cooking videos on YouTube. I love food videos.

Did you put Crisco in them? Two tablespoons. Looks like you needed to add water to the mix also. You want it a little sticky. Put in greased cast iron skillet and put melted butter on top to brown.

Crisco buttermilk and self rising flour is all it takes. Roll them in your hand and drop em in the pan. Guaranteed delicious

Two cups self rising flour

3/4 cup buttermilk

1/4 cup crisco oil

You can stir this mixture up with a fork. Spread you a little flour on a paper towel and put on your hands to keep them from sticking to your hands. Makes about seven to eight good cat heads. Set oven to 400° and cook to desired color. Generally brown the top by putting on broil at the end.

This is how I make them. Also when you cut them out use something sharp and dont twist. I have a thin metal biscuit cutter and I just push it straight down. My mother said if you twist the cutter they wont rise as much. I have a short sided cast iron skillet that I use for them. They are a little crowded but that seems to make them rise better.

I love my country, but don't trust my government.
