This may sound crazy but has anyone ever killed a junk antlered buck in order to keep it from killing your hit list bucks?

I have a 3 yr old that has a very narrow rack with long main beams, they slightly curve with a couple of 2” points on the underside of the main beams. I’ve got trail cam photos of him lowering his head and putting his points between the antlers of the bigger bucks and backing them off. The way my luck is he’ll kill them both when the rut starts kicking in.

If you wanna kill him, kill him. I personally wouldn’t worry about it plus you run the risk of running your hit list bucks off once the killing starts. If I’m locked in on a particular buck or bucks my focus is not doing anything to spook them while I’m trying to kill ‘em.

Yessir! I’m always gonna shoot what makes me happy and I want everyone else to do the same! If you shoot one be proud of it and don’t worry what anyone else thinks. - SJ22

Don’t really want to kill him but I don’t want him becoming top dog and either killing the other bucks or running them off.
