1 1/2 to 2 cups of water
1 lb of Conecuh brand sausage, sliced 1/4" thick
Salt to taste
Sugar to taste (if greens are bitter)

Put all ingredients, except sausage in stock pot. Cook over medium heat. Put sliced sausage in skillet and brown it. Once sausage is browned, add to the soup. Cook until greens are tender, or for about an hour.

If you don't cook a pawn of cornbread (with no dad gum sugar in it) to go with this, move to China because you are a communist.

This is absolutely one of my favorite soups. It is absolutely awesome. If you like turnip greens, you'll love the soup. If you even remotely will eat turnip greens, you'll like the soup.

I love turnip greens, but my wife will only eat them on rare occasion. She loves the soup.

When in a quick and rapid hurry you can make this with canned, cooked turnip greens. Just have to heat and eat and is ready by the time the oven is preheated and cornbread is cooked.
