Instead of planting all of my fields with a mix, such as WMS Alabama Blend or Mississippi Mix, I am considering planting one of my food plots with only Oats and Peas. Anyone planted this combination and, if so, what were your results?

Thanks.

Here ....... Nothing but oats . If you have many deer winter peas won't last no time

If it has deer on it or near the bag I won't buy it .

Plant you 3 bushel or about per ac. . You growing for mass not seed production

I've been planting oats. peas, and clover for the last 4 or 5 years and haven't been let down yet. The peas are great candy for early season and the oats and clover hang in there all season.

I planted 2 bags of peas and 1 bag rye on an acre. I also added some clover for when the peas are gone. The peas last longer then 60 dollars of corn.

Oats and Triticale work for me.

I got a mixed bag from Garvin's for my personal plot. Got it in the ground yesterday and rain for tomorrow. 👍

Haha I hear ya! But to the op, maybe add a brassica and you will have it all covered? Sounds like a pretty good combo. I would go maybe tritacle and peas etc

Well my throw and mow from three weeks ago fattened a lot of turkeys. I sowed oats again yesterday and run a drag harrow over them. Please rain
