Helped recover another one from yesterday evening’s hunt shot in the guts……The hunter gets credit for the recovery on this one. We tracked right to him but he was laying in a little ditch with his belly turned down and the dogs went right past him…..After the track went cold we made a loop back around to restart and that’s when the hunter just happened to stumble up on him…..We had been within 10 yards of him on the first run through…..Sometimes it’s a full team effort.

Gut shot, leg shot, some folks need to learn to shoot or at least wait for a better shot! Pat on the back to the trackers that help find these deer.

22 hr old bow shot from yesterday evening…….Buck was quartered to the hunter slightly……Entry was about right but the arrow angled back and likely only got one lung…..Recovered 400 yards from the hit site.

Went on a leg shot earlier. The hunters pushed him pretty hard lastnight tracking him. We made it alittle over a mile before Muzz took off like the trail was hot. About 600 yards later we got him bayed. Kind of weird to bay one on the side of a steep hill in open hardwoods but I'm glad he didn't make a run to the bottom

Otis and Lu-lu got in a pretty routine gut shot recovery this morning…..Straight run right to the deer approx. 225 yards away….The only blood was a little bit at the hit site.

Just got done looking for two more…….First one was likely a brisket hit……It had pretty good blood in spots but petered out at about 900 yards. We never jumped him and all the blood we were finding was dry. It finally just got tougher and tougher for Otis to keep following. That buck will most likely be ok…..

The second one was a leg shot that some stray dogs likely ran off……We tracked him for about 800 yards without jumping him before running into the neighborhood strays. There was a little bit of growling and barking but we managed to get it broken up without there being a fight. We were right on the property line at this point anyways so we just called it off instead of trying to contact the neighbors…….figuring that the stray dogs had likely run him way off somewhere already. This is one's a sitting duck for the yotes or stray dogs if they havent already taken him down......Doubt he makes it through the night.

Went on two tracks tonight. First one made it around 600 yards in before the dogs just started circling and couldn't pick up anything else. Was thought to be a graze from the start anyways. Second was another front leg shot buck. Dogs caught up to him in a swamp and stopped him out in the middle of a pasture

Nice job!......We just had another possible leg shot call come we're gonna go after in the morning.....Maybe the coyotes will leave him alone tonight and not run him off.....I recovered a big 10 pt for a little boy on the neighboring property to the north back in November and it had a coyote trying to bay it up when we found it the next morning. The track I just went on today with the stray dogs was another neighbor to the northwest. This one may have a rough night ahead of him

No luck on the leg shot this morning…..We tracked him over 1000 yards before he got onto another property and we called it off. With the coyote population in some areas it’s tough to leave one overnight and them not get on it. I wish we could have tracked him last night but the hunter had already gone back home by the time they called me.

We did recover a bow shot from this morning’s hunt 600 yards from the hit site. The shot was back in the guts and he was still alive when we found him 3 hrs later but he was already too weak to get away. The dogs made quick work out of the bay and dispatch.

Got a call at 3:00 this afternoon. The hunter caught one slipping on his way into his afternoon stand. Shot him on a quartered to angle and all he could find was a bunch of white hair and a few tiny specs of blood. We decided to give him a few hours and go in after dark. Recovered him 325 yards from the hit site….dead on arrival.

Tracked this one New years night. Muzz had him bayed in the flint river but had crossed property lines so we backed out to get permission the next morning. They ended up not giving us permission and the deer was found hung up in some trees this weekend in the river.

Recovered a nice 9 point this morning……Deer was shot yesterday evening just a little back and low. Blood was very minimal. Hunter looked for it last night and again this morning with no luck….We found him piled up in some palmettos roughly 225 yards from the hit site.
