Did this last year in a few fields and it worked out great. Spray then bush hog them seed and fertilize with the buggy and then till in wheat, forage oats and cereal rye. Come back and top dress with clover. Anybody else do this? Good idea? Bad idea?

I personally think tillers only belong in an old lady's garden. They're slow and destroy soil structure. Spray/Spread/disk LIGHTLY is my go-to. YMMV...
"Cull" is just another four letter word...

Come back and top dress with clover. Anybody else do this? Good idea? Bad idea? I’ve done it every way known to man and this is the quickest and easiest way I’ve found. One pass with a tiller and you’re done. I do come back and seed with clover.

I use a tiller and I cover seed with it. The key is to run it over the ground much faster than when ordinarily tilling so it doesn’t dig down too deep. Works great for me
Right and wrong will never change---only people's perception!

Set the tiller depth shallow and run faster than normal. If soil is super dry this works well. It may get an inch or two of cover dirt but that gets real thin when the rain comes in
Don't blame me for your bad decision-
