Anyone know why reveal cameras eat batteries faster than the other brands? Or how it can be fixed? I have it set to only send pics 2 times a day....... Any wisdom is appreciated.

Get the solar panels. Ive had one in a green field in our cutover for 4 months, and one in some thick woods for a week now. Both are still showing 100%. 60$ for the solar panel(that has an integrated rechargeable lithium battery) or 50$ fot AA lithiums every month or 1.5 months its a no brainer.

Build a external battery box and use a 12v 7.5ah battery. I think the Jack size is 4.7x1.1 mm it’ll come up with a Google search. I got over 10 months before I had to change out the battery. Obviously a feeder would shorten the run time.

Take it off timely and set it at once or twice a day. I get good battery life from my tactacms.

External battery box from herd360 and a lithium 12 volt battery. Mine is still at 100% and it’s been out for months and took 10,000 pics or more. Easiest way to go

I use $39.99 solar panels off Amazon. If you have decent sunlight they will last forever. Literally never need new batteries

Mine worked great the past two seasons. Changed no settings since then and now they eat up batteries in 2-3 weeks.

You using energizer lithium batteries? If not, start there. If you are already, go to an external battery or one of the solar setups. That’s about all you can do.

I have 4 of these camera's with issues. One the replaced under warranty. 2 I sent back and they repaired them and they still don't do what they are supposed to do. One I have at the office, and I just sent it back for an upgrade replacement.

On the office camera, the red infrared lights won't shut off. On one of my other ones, it has a low signal, and the other one just stops sending pics. There is a hole for resetting the camera on the bottom when you open the front, if that doesn't cure your issue, then there is a problem with the camera itself in my experience.

I think I have 4 out right now that don't seem to be eating batteries. They send pics once a day. So in my case 4 out of 7 camera's broke.

External battery (12Ah) in a plastic ammo box here. Works great- don’t have to find a sunny spot for it.

I have mine set to send pics immediately. I run regular Energizer batteries and have the camera on a trough. I get around 200-300 pics a day and a set of batteries usually last me about 6 weeks over the course of the last year. Hopefully it stays that way.

Mine did what you’re describing. Solar panels worked well… for a while, then the panels started crapping out and wouldn’t charge and couldn’t be recharged.

I bought several of the kits off herd 360 and got batteries from Amazon. For less than $50 they seem to be much better

I don't know why they do it, but I've had several that just start running through batteries out of nowhere.

I have 2 and one of them started doing the IR light not shutting off thing. I tried to contact Tactacam but can't get a response.

How many pics a day is it taking? Is it set to video? What kind of batteries? How's your signal? Too many unknowns to answer your question

I have a cam that's been out since July at 100%, another same time frame at 20%. I know the one at 20% has an iffy signal often...

You'll get an answer in less than an hour messaging the FB page. All of their pros are on there.
